Introduction

Today, we are living in a time when there is an unprecedented attack on the Bible in Western Civilization. Abortion has now come to include after birth abortion. Homosexuality has now come to include same-sex marriage. Lawlessness has now led to attempts to defund the police. And people shamelessly turn a blind eye to openly corrupt politicians in order to advance their own, personal agenda.

Are the things that are happening in the world today signs that we are nearing the end of the age? How did they spiral out of control so quickly? Is it possible that we have failed to identify the prophesies that culminate in Yeshua’s[1] return (Rev. 11:15), namely the seven trumpet plagues? Is His return imminent? If it is, is it possible that the fifth trumpet plagues, which are described as the first “woe,” are currently being fulfilled? King Solomon wrote, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter” (Prov. 25:2). Do you agree?

The Back Story

The Scriptures tell us that prior to the creation of the earth (Gen. 1:1-3), Satan, an archangel (Ezek. 28:11-19; Isa. 14:12-14), led one-third of the angels[2] into rebellion against God and His government (2 Pet. 2:4). They were defeated and banished to the earth (Luke 10:18; Rev. 12:3-4). After God created Adam and Eve, they sinned (Gen. 3:1-7) and were banished from the Garden of Eden, and for the last 6000 years sin has separated man from God (Isa. 59:1-2).

During the creation week, Elohim[3] established the weekly cycle of seven days. He worked the first six days and “rested on the seventh day” (Gen. 2:1-3), the Sabbath, providing us an example (Ex. 20:8-11). Psalm 90:4 provides the following insight: “For a thousand years in Your sight are just like yesterday when it is past, like a watch in the night.” Based on these Scriptures, many early rabbis interpreted these Scriptures to mean that the six days of creation represents six millennial work days, and that the seventh day Sabbath represents the millennial rest. For example, about 200 years before Messiah, Rabbi Elias wrote, “The world endures six thousand years: two thousand before the Torah,[4] two thousand under the Torah, and two thousand under Messiah.” The New Testament writers echoed the rabbi’s interpretation of the same Scriptures with regard to the anticipation of Messiah’s return. They also believed that the first six days of creation represent six millennial work days, and that the seventh day represents the millennial Sabbath. The Apostle[5] Peter wrote, “But do not forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with יהוה[6] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Pet. 3:8). The Apostle John was inspired to write that this coming era, beginning with Messiah’s return to set up His Kingdom, will last 1,000 years (Rev. 20:1-4). The Apostle Paul explained that the seventh-day Sabbath pictures the “millennial” rest (Heb. 4:1-11). Matthew testified that Yeshua took Peter, James and John up a high mountain to witness the transfiguration, which occurred “after six days” (Matt. 16:28 through 17:1-9). The six days refer to the six millennial work days and the transfiguration refers to the resurrection, an event that ushers in the millennial Sabbath. Many church[7] “fathers” also agreed with this interpretation. In Against Heresies (c. 150ad), Irenaeus wrote, “This is an account of the things formerly created, as also it is a prophecy of what is to come. For the day of the Lord is a thousand years; and in six days created things were completed; it is evident, therefore, that they will come to an end at the sixth thousand years.” Other “church fathers” who were also in agreement were: Lactantius, Victorinus, Hippotylus, Justin Martyr and Methodius, etc. Though these men may not always be relied upon for biblical truth, they certainly do attest to how widespread this interpretation was in the early centuries after Messiah’s death.

After Adam and Eve sinned, they were banished from the Garden of Eden, no longer living under God’s government. So, under the influence of Satan, they created their own government, comprised of their own religious, educational and health care systems, etc. Thus, for the last 6000 years, God has been allowing mankind to learn painful, bitter lessons, hoping that we will come to realize that our way leads to a life of misery and death (Pr. 16:26), and that we will repent and return to Him.

A United Church of God minister, John Ross Schroeder,[8] wrote, “Archbishop James Ussher (Anglican primate of Ireland) published his famous study of biblical chronology in the mid-17th century. Although specifics of his work are judged as much too precise, his estimated figure of 4,000 years for the biblical chronology from Adam to Christ is generally accepted.”

Specifically, Archbishop Ussher assigned the creation of Adam to the year 4004 BC and the birth of Yeshua to the year 4 BC, 4000 years later. When this timeline is projected, the 6,000-year age of man culminates in the year 1996. The fact that Yeshua has not returned immediately after the 6000-year age of man ended should come as no surprise. Yeshua Himself gave His followers this warning: “But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Watch, keep alert, and pray, for you do not know when the time is” (Mark 13:32-33; cf. Matt, 24:42). Thus, rather than marking the year of Yeshua’s return, 1996 marks the beginning of His time of delay.

Moses was a type of Yeshua (Deut. 18:15), and just as he was delayed on Mt. Sinai, Yeshua is currently being delayed in heaven. Exodus 32:1 states, “When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make gods for us, who shall go before us, for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” With regard to Yeshua’s time of delay, Peter wrote, “knowing this first, that in the last days mockers will come, walking after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. … But do not forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with יהוה as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. יהוה is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Pet. 3:3-4, 8-9). And just as Moses’ delay ended on the Day of Trumpets (Ex. 32:5, 17-18), when he returned from Mt. Sinai, Yeshua’s delay will also end on the day of Trumpets (Rev. 11:15-19; 1 Cor. 15:50-54; 1 Thess. 4:13-18), when He returns from heaven.

In the meantime, while we wait for Yeshua’s return, we must deal with the reality that Satan is currently the ruler of this earth. In Scripture, he is called the “gods of this age” (2 Cor. 4:4), the “ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11) and the “ruler of the authority of the air” (Eph. 2:2). The Apostle John wrote that Satan “deceives the whole world” (Rev. 12:9). He will remain as earth’s ruler until Yeshua returns and sits on His rightful throne (Rev. 11:15).

This begs the question, though, “What event will cause Yeshua to return?” First and foremost, we must acknowledge that God “…desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 3-4). Yeshua qualified this statement by saying, “This gospel[9] of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matt 24:14). Thus, the combination of both statements seem to imply that as long as there are people responding to the message of the gospel, Yeshua’s return will continue to be delayed. However, once the message of the two witnesses is no longer received, they will be “killed.” Revelation 11:7 clarifies this, “When they [the two witnesses] have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.”

It is at this time, just before Yeshua returns to marry His bride, Satan will attempt a rematch with God and His angels (Isa. 14:12-14; Ezek. 28:11-19). This attempted coup is described in detail in Revelation 12:7-12, which states, “Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels made war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war. They did not prevail, neither was a place found for them in heaven any longer. The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now salvation, power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Messiah has come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death. Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who tabernacle in them. Woe to the land and to the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”

The Genesis Code Revealed

Before we can understand the details of the fifth trumpet plagues as they relate to the end of the age, we must first reveal an incredible code that is hidden in the book of Genesis. In Isaiah 46:9-10, God states that He declares, “…the end from the beginning.” In other words, those who want to “search out” (Prov. 25:2) what is prophesied to happen at the end of the age must first make the connection to what happened in the beginning. It makes sense, then, that the starting place for interpreting the prophecies related to the end of the age is in the book of Genesis, which in Hebrew means, “Beginnings.” The book of Genesis opens with the seven days of creation and it is here where the key to the prophecies related to the end of the age are hidden. A careful examination of them will reveal that the life-sustaining qualities God “created” over the seven days have spiritual equivalents.

Genesis 1:3-5 states, “God said, “Light be.” And there was light. God saw the light, that it was good! Then God separated between the light and the darkness. God called the light ‘day,’ and the darkness He called ‘night.’ So there was an evening and there was a morning, day one.”

Thus, on the first day of creation, God created light, which is necessary to see. In spiritual terms; however, light symbolizes truth (1 John 1:5-6; Ps. 119:105, 60; Isa. 8:20).

Genesis 1:6-8 states, “Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the water, and let it separate between the water and the water.” And it became so. God appointed the expanse, and separated between the water which was under the expanse and the water which was over the expanse. God called the expanse ‘air.’ And God saw that it was good! So there was an evening and there was a morning, the second day.”

Thus, on the second day of creation, God created air, which is necessary to breath. In spiritual terms; however, air, which is invisible (Job 26:7), symbolizes faith. Hebrews 11:1 states, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (cf. Rom. 8:24-25; Job 26:7). The expression, “a leap of faith” illustrates this point well, as it accurately pictures a person leaping through the air from one surface to another surface in faith.

Genesis 1:9-13 states, “Then God said, “Let the water under the air be gathered unto its places, and let the dry land appear.” And it became so. The water which was under the air was gathered unto its places, and the dry land appeared. God called the dry land ‘earth,’ and the gathering of the waters He called ‘seas.’ And God saw that it was good! God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation: herbs yielding seed and fruit trees bearing fruit, with their seed in them after their kinds on the earth.” And it became so. The earth brought forth vegetation, herbs yielding seed after their kinds, and trees bearing fruit, with their seed in them, after their kinds. And God saw that it was good! So there was evening and there was a morning, the third day.”

Thus, on the third day of creation, God created food. In spiritual terms; however, food symbolizes the word of God. Matthew 4:4 states, “…It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’” (cf. Deut. 8:3; Luke 4:4).

Genesis 1:14-19 states, “Then God said, “Let there be luminaries in the expanse of the heavens to give light to the earth and to separate between the day and the night. They shall serve as signs for seasons, for days and for years. And let them serve as luminaries in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth.” And it became so. God appointed two great luminaries: the greater luminary to rule the day, and the lesser luminary to rule the night, among the stars. God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light to the earth, to rule over the day and the night, and to separate between the light and the darkness. God saw that it was good! So there was evening and there was a morning, the fourth day.”

Thus, on the fourth day of creation, God created seasons, days, and years, which are necessary to count the passage of time. In spiritual terms; however, time symbolizes repentance. Revelation 2:21 states, “I gave her time to repent of her fornication, but she refuses to repent” (cf. Acts 17:30-31; 2 Cor. 2:10).

Genesis 1:20-23 states, “Then God said, “Let the waters increase abundantly with moving things, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the air.” And it became so. God created large sea creatures, and all living creatures that move, with which the waters increased abundantly after their kinds, and all winged birds after their kinds. And God saw that it was good! God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” So there was evening and there was a morning, the fifth day.”

Thus, on the fifth day of creation, God created life from the waters, which, in spiritual terms, symbolizes rebirth. Romans 6:4 states, “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Messiah was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (cf. Titus 3:4-5).

Genesis 1:24-31 states, “Then God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kinds: beasts, moving things, the living creatures of the earth, after their kinds.” And it became so. God appointed the living creatures of the earth after their kinds: the beasts after their kinds, all the creatures that move on the land after their kinds. God saw that it was good! Then God said, “Let Us appoint man to Our image, according to Our likeness. And let them rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the earth, over all moving things that move on the earth.” So God created man in His own image. In the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them saying, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth, subdue it, and rule over the fish of the seas, the birds of the air, and the beasts of the earth, over all living creatures that move on the earth.” God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed, which is on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food. To all the living creatures of the earth, all the birds of the air, and to all that move on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it became so. God saw everything that He had appointed, and behold, they were very good! So there was evening and there was a morning, the sixth day.”

Thus, on the sixth day of creation, God created man, blessed him with unmerited dominion over His creation and commanded him to “Be fruitful and multiply” (Gen. 1:24-31) and, in effect, extend his blessing of dominion to all mankind. In spiritual terms; however, God creates each Believer a “new man” (Eph. 4:20-24; 2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 6:14-15; Col. 3:9-11). He blesses him with unmerited dominion over the “Kingdom of God” (Matt. 6:33; 25:34). He commands him to “Be fruitful and multiply” by preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God (1 Cor. 16:8-9; 2 Cor. 2:12; Col. 4:3-4) “…in all the world as a witness to all the nations” (Matt. 24:14). Thus, in effect, He extends His gift of grace to all mankind. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Genesis 2:1-3 states, “Thus, the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. On the sixth day God completed His work which He had appointed, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had appointed. God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it, because on it He rested from all His work which He had appointed and created.”

Thus, on the seventh day of creation, God rested (Gen. 2:1-2). Of course, the reason why God rested on the seventh day was not because He was tired, but because He provided us with an example to rest and to be restored to physical completeness. In spiritual terms; however, the Sabbath symbolizes spiritual completeness. Hebrews 4:8-11 states, “For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”

Amazingly, when we compile the spiritual equivalents of the life-sustaining qualities of the earth in a list, they prove to comprise a code that contains seven stages of spiritual progression. The code is comprised of the following stages of spiritual progression: 1. truth; 2. faith; 3. the word of God; 4. repentance; 5. rebirth; 6. grace and; 7. spiritual completion. It is important to understand that the first component of the code, truth, acts as a catalyst in the life of the Believer and sets into motion a chain reaction that culminates with spiritual completion.

The Code Applied to the Tabernacle

King David wrote, “And He built His sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which He has established forever” (Ps. 78:69). In other words, the earth provided the pattern on which God instructed Moses to build the tabernacle in the wilderness (Ex. 25 through 29). A careful comparison of the physical life-sustaining qualities of the earth with the spiritual life-sustaining qualities of the tabernacle will reveal that they parallel one another perfectly.

The divine presence of God “rested” on the mercy seat (Ex. 35:40) above the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies (Ex. 25:10-22), which symbolizes light. Of course, the divine presence of God is the equivalent of the light that was created on the first day of creation. Both symbolize truth (John 3:19-21; 1 John 1:5-6; Ps. 119:105, 60; Isa. 8:20).

The altar of incense (Ex. 30:1-10) was located in the Holy Place of the tabernacle. It provided a sweet aroma that ascended into the air, which symbolizes prayers of faith (James 5:13-15; cf. Rev. 5:8; 8:4 Ps.141:2). Of course, the altar of incense is the equivalent of the air that was created on the second day of creation. Both symbolize faith (Heb. 11:1).

The table of showbread (Ex, 25:23-30), which consisted of twelve loaves of bread, was located in the Holy Place of the tabernacle. It provided food for the priests (Ex. 29:32-34; Lev. 24:5-9). In spiritual terms; however, the table of showbread symbolizes the word of God. Of course, the table of showbread of the tabernacle is the equivalent of the food that was created on the third day of creation. Both symbolize the word of God (Matt. 4:4).

The golden menorah (Ex. 25:31-40), which consisted of seven branches, was located in the Holy Place of the tabernacle. It provided light for the priests. In spiritual terms; however, the seven-branched golden menorah represents the seven eras of the Body of Messiah (Rev. 1:20; chapters 2-3), which symbolizes repentance. Of course, the seven-branched, golden menorah of the tabernacle is the equivalent of the seasons, days and years of the fourth day of creation. Both symbolize repentance (Rev. 2:21).

The laver (Ex. 30:17-21, 38:8) was located between the altar of sacrifice and the entrance of the tabernacle. It provided water for the priests to wash their hands and feet before offering sacrifices or entering into the tabernacle. In spiritual terms; however, the laver symbolizes rebirth. Of course, the laver of the tabernacle is the equivalent of the sea creatures abounding in the water on the fifth day of creation. Both symbolize rebirth (Rom. 6:4).

Levitical Priests were located throughout the tabernacle (Lev. 1:50). They acted as mediators between the people and God, offering sacrifices so that sin might be forgiven (Lev. 4:20, 26, 31). In spiritual terms; however, the Levitical Priesthood symbolizes grace. Of course, the Levitical Priesthood is the equivalent of the creation of man on the sixth day of creation. Both symbolize grace.

The altar of burnt offerings (Ex. 27:1-8) was located on the far side of the laver (Ex. 40:6). It provided the people with a means by which to offer a sacrifice and enter into the presence of God! In spiritual terms; however, the altar of burnt offerings symbolizes trials and spiritual completeness. Of course, the altar of burnt sacrifices of the tabernacle is the equivalent of the Sabbath of the seventh day of creation. Both symbolize spiritual completion.

Just as the spirit of God initiated the creation of the earth (Gen. 1:2), it also initiated the creation of the tabernacle (Ex. 35:31). Also, just as on each of the seven days of creation God said, “Let there be … and it was so,” the tabernacle was raised in seven stages, each ending with the phrase, “…as יהוה had commanded Moses” (Ex. 39-40). Finally, just as God looked over all His work and blessed it (Gen. 1:31), Moses looked over all his work and blessed it (Ex. 40:33; 39:32, 43).

The Code Applied to the Chaste and Harlot Congregations

The Genesis Code not only applies to the tabernacle, but it also applies to the chaste congregation and the harlot congregation, which, according to the principle that kind begets kind, includes her daughter, Protestant congregations. It applies to the chaste congregation through a 2000-year, 7-era timeline outlined in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, which culminates in Yeshua’s return. And it applies to the harlot-daughter congregations through parallel 2000-year, 7-era timelines outlined in the seven signs of Yeshua’s return in Matthew chapter 24, and the seven seals of Yeshua’s return in Revelation chapters 6 through 11.

Yeshua addresses the spiritual needs of these rival congregations through two very different methods. He sends letters of admonishment, encouragement and praise to the chaste congregation, while He sends plagues to the harlot-daughter congregations (Rev. 18:4). This indicates that the chaste congregation has ears to hear (Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22), which Yeshua mentions toward the end of each of the seven letters. And it also indicates that the harlot-daughter congregations do not have ears to hear, which forces Him to take drastic measures to bring them to repentance.

Since the focus of this document is on the fifth trumpet plagues, which are brought to bear on the harlot-daughter congregations, the chaste congregation is not directly addressed, at least not inasmuch as they are being faithful to God.

The chart below indicates how the Genesis Code, which is based on the seven days of creation, applies to the temple/tabernacle, which is comprised of seven stations. These details are addressed earlier and are now presented in the chart as a summary. The chart also indicates how the code applies to the chaste congregation, which is comprised of seven eras, and the harlot-daughter congregations, which are comprised of the seven signs of Yeshua’s return and the seven seals of Yeshua’s return. In the interest of time, the details of all three of these applications were not addressed earlier in this document. However, they are laid out in the chart below, and it is important to study them thoroughly in order to understand the full scope of this message. For a more detailed study on the Genesis Code as it relates to both congregations, read the document, The Seven Congregations of Revelation Revisited on this website.

What Demographic does the “ ” Represent?

In Revelation chapters 8 through 11, God brings the trumpet plagues to bear on four distinct demographics: one-third of the land, one-third of the sea, one-third of the freshwater rivers and streams and one-third of the heavens. In other words, He brings them to bear on one-third of the total population of the heavens and the earth. There is ample evidence to prove that this demographic represents Christianity. David Barrett’s World Christian Encyclopedia is considered to be “the most comprehensive sources of data on Christian denominations around the world.”[10] This journal indicates that the Christian population percentage came to number one-third of the population of the earth in about the year 1900 AD.,[A] and has been holding steady until now. Encyclopaedia Britannica reports the same percentages. If the 6000-year age of man and Archbishop Ussher’s 6000-year chronology of the Bible ended in 1996, than 1996 marks the beginning of Yeshua’s time of delay. Now, the significance of the year 1996 is further supported by the fact that the Christian population percentage numbered one-third of the population of the earth in the year 1996 AD., and that it has remained steady ever since.

The following data supports the fact that this percentage represents Christianity:

First, in speaking of “Mystery, Babylon the Great,” and her “harlot” daughters (Rev. 17:5), God cries out, “I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, My people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you do not receive of her plagues” (Rev. 18:4). A simple search into these symbolic titles will reveal that the Catholic Church recognizes herself as the “mother church,” and the Protestant Churches as her “daughter” churches. Notice that the trumpet plagues are described as being “her plagues.”

Second, God instructed the ancient Israelites to blow trumpets for various reasons (Num. 10), including to warn them of the His approach (Ex. 19:16-17, Josh. 6:4-5) and impending judgment (Joel 2:1, 15). In this context, they are blown to warn the harlot-daughter congregations of Yeshua’s return and their impending judgment.

Third, God holds His people to a higher degree of accountability than those who do not know Him. 1 Peter 4:17 states, “For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who do not obey the gospel of God?” Notice that God judges those who are in “the household of God” first, in this case the harlot-daughter congregations, through the trumpet plagues. Then, He will judge “those who do not obey the gospel of God,” which means the remainder of earth’s population, through the bowl plagues (Rev. 16). No doubt, God chose the trumpet to symbolize His people because its sounds is directional, pointed at His people. And based on the same principle, no doubt, He chose a bowl to symbolize the rest of the world because it is round.

Two Types of Death

The Apostle Paul revealed a very important principle in 1 Corinthians 15:46: “However that which is spiritual is not first, but that which is physical, then that which is spiritual.” Based on this principle, Paul tells us that Yeshua is the “…mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises…” (Heb. 8:6), including the “promise of the eternal inheritance” (Heb. 9:15). Thus, death during Old Testament times was physical, whereas death during New Testament times is spiritual (2 Cor. 4:18). During Old Testament times, Israel was a physical minded people; they had a physical king; they had a physical temple; the Torah was written on a physical material, stone; their enemies and weapons were physical; and they entered into a physical Promised Land, Israel; etc. Conversely, during New Testament times, remnant Israel is a spiritually minded people (Gal. 3:7); we have a King who is a spirit being (John 4:24), Yeshua; we are a spiritual temple (1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19-20; 2 Cor. 6:16-18; Eph. 2:14-22; 2 Thess. 2:4); the Torah is written on spiritual material, our hearts (Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:8-13); our enemies and weapons are spiritual (Eph. 6:10-20); and we will enter into a spiritual Promised Land (Heb. 11:13-16), the Kingdom of Elohim (John 3:3-6; 1 Cor. 15:50). Thus, the Scriptures teach that there are two types of death, the first death, which is physical (Heb. 9:27-28), and the second death, which is spiritual (Rev. 2:10-11; 20:6, 14; 21:8). The following Scriptures are examples in which death is described in spiritual terms in the New Testament: Yeshua said, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the being. Rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in Gehenna” (Matt. 10:28). Yeshua said, “…Follow Me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead” (Matt. 8:22; cf. Luke 9:60).Yeshua told the Pharisees, “I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins, for unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24; cf. vs. 21). Paul told the Ephesians, “You were made alive when you were dead in trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1-2). Paul told the Colossians, “You, who were once dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him…” (Col. 2:13). Paul also said, “But she who lives in self-indulgence is dead while she lives” (1 Tim. 5:6). Yeshua told the congregation of Sardis, “I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead” (Rev. 3:1). Finally, the prophecy that the seven trumpet plagues “kill” one third of mankind is symbolic, which means that they are killed spiritually and “separated from God” (Isa. 59:1-2; cf. Ps.51:11; Rom. 8:9).

The First Four Trumpet Plagues

Like the seven seals, the seven trumpet plagues are also based on the Genesis Code. However, before we address the fifth trumpet plagues, it is important that we understand the first four.

The first trumpet plague reads, “The first sounded, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. One-third of the land was burnt up, one-third of the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up” (Rev. 8:7).

The first trumpet plague is symbolized by fire, which causes darkness. It is the opposite of the blessing God created on the first day of creation, light. And just as light symbolizes truth, darkness symbolizes lies, which corresponds to the earlier fulfillment of “false messiahs” in Matthew 24 and the white horse of Revelation 6. Thus, these false messiahs were the catalysts that lead to war, famine and death.

If Yeshua’s time of delay began in 1996, which marks the beginning of the trumpet plagues that are brought to bear on the harlot-daughter congregations, than the false messiahs of the first trumpet plague must be people who rose to prominence starting in the year 1996. In order to identify the false messiahs of the first trumpet plague, we must first identify the false teaching that was most prevalent during the period of time starting in 1996 by connecting it to its negative impact on society. When we examine both factors, the evidence strongly suggests that the false teaching in question was the social gospel. This “gospel” is different from earlier Christian reform movements because it prioritizes social, temporary salvation over individual, eternal salvation. The social gospel seeks to achieve social justice through societal standards, rather than true justice through biblical standards. Thus, the false messiahs are those ministers who teach this heresy. They include: Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and many others.

The second trumpet plague reads, “The second angel sounded, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea. One-third of the sea became blood, and one-third of the living creatures which were in the sea died. One-third of the ships were destroyed” (Rev. 8:8-9; cf. Jer. 51:24-25; Rev. 18:2-6, 24).

The second trumpet plague is symbolized by smoke, which is caused by the fire of the first trumpet plague. It is the opposite of the blessing God created on the second day of creation, air. And just as air symbolizes faith, smoke symbolizes war, which corresponds to the earlier fulfillment of “wars and rumors of war” in Matthew 24 and the red horse of Revelation 6. And just as fire causes smoke or pollution, these false Messiahs cause social gospel wars.

These social gospel wars were fought with false messiahs who supported: abortion; same sex marriage; reverse racism, identity politics; the war on men; fake feminism; and the attack on freedom of speech, etc.

In the meantime, on September 11, 2001 the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda, under the orders of Osama bin Laden, attacked the United States. The attacks resulted in nearly 3000 fatalities, over 25,000 injuries, and a huge number of people who developed long-term health issues. In addition, there were over $10 billion in damages. 9/11 is the single, deadliest terrorist attack on the United States and, by extension, Western Civilization to date.

Despite the fact that the 9/11 attacks occurred in one, single day; they were not spontaneous attacks. Rather, they were planned long before that tragic day. “In 1996, bin Laden issued his first fatwā,[11] calling for American soldiers to leave Saudi Arabia. In a second fatwā in 1998, bin Laden outlined his objections to American foreign policy with respect to Israel, as well as the continued presence of American troops in Saudi Arabia after the Gulf War. Bin Laden used Islamic texts to exhort Muslims to attack Americans until the stated grievances were reversed.”[12] Thus, the actual planning for the attacks began in 1996. This confirms the significance of this particular year.

After the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden released two videos, the second one on December 27, 2001. In it he said, “It has become clear that the West in general and America in particular have an unspeakable hatred for Islam. ... It is the hatred of crusaders. Terrorism against America deserves to be praised because it was a response to injustice….”[13] Thus, bin Laden’s attack on the United States and, by extension, Western Civilization actually began in 1996, which corresponds to the three converging timelines mentioned earlier regarding this particular year.

After 9/11, President George W. Bush finished a number of his speeches, if not all of them, with the sobering words: “May God bless you all, and may God continue to bless America.” His words brought into question whether or not God would continue to bless the United States.

Since 9/11, Islamists have stepped up their efforts of attacking Western Civilization from the inside. To this end, they have attempted to change their reputation from being terrorists to being perceived as an oppressed people by conjuring up a moral equivalency between their “oppression” and the “oppression” of others, especially black people and, ironically, women. In order to achieve their goals, Islamists have integrated into these communities through the social gospel and have been very successful in winning people over to their cause, and adopting their belief that unprovoked violence against innocent people is necessary in order to fight injustice.

The third trumpet plague reads, “The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on one-third of the rivers, and on the springs of the waters. The name of the star is called “Wormwood.” One-third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter” (Rev. 8:10-11; cf. Jer. 23:15; 2 Kings 2:19-22).

The third trumpet plague is symbolized by poisoned freshwater, which is caused by the smoke and pollution of the second trumpet plague. It is the opposite of the blessing God created on the third day of creation, food. And just as food symbolizes the Word of God, poisoned freshwater symbolizes famine of the word of God, which corresponds to the earlier fulfillment of “famines” in Matthew 24 and the black horse of Revelation 6. And just as smoke or pollution causes poisoned freshwater, the social gospel wars caused famines of the word of God.

The fourth trumpet plague reads, “The fourth angel sounded, and one-third of the sun was struck, and one-third of the moon, and one-third of the stars, so that one-third of them would be darkened, and the day would not shine for one-third of it, and the night in the same way” (Rev. 8:12).

The fourth trumpet plague is symbolized by sickness, which is caused by the poisoned freshwater of the third trumpet plague. It is the opposite of the blessing God created on the fourth day of creation, time. And just as time symbolizes repentance, sickness symbolizes death, which corresponds to the earlier fulfillment of “pestilences” in Matthew 24 and the pale horse of Revelation 6. And just as poisoned freshwater causes death, famines of the word of God caused spiritual death.

The Fifth Trumpet Plagues: The First Woe

The fifth trumpet plague reads, “The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him” (Rev. 9:1).

The word “star” symbolizes an angel (Num. 24:17; Rev. 1:16; 20; 22:16; Job 38:7), and in this case it symbolizes Satan (Isa. 14:12; 2 Cor. 11:14: Rev. 12:3-4), and, by extension, his demons (Rev. 12:7-9). ‘The word, “pit” symbolizes death (Isa. 14:15; Job: 33:18; Ps. 30:3; Prov. 1:12; Isa. 38:17-18), and the word “abyss,” which is a reference to water, symbolizes rebirth (Gen. 1:2; 8:8-12; John 3:5; Rom. 6:3-4). The prophecy, “I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him,” symbolizes Satan’s death and rebirth.

The fifth trumpet plagues symbolize the rebirth of Satan and the first four trumpet plagues. They are the opposite of the blessings God created on the fifth day of creation, water. And just as water symbolizes rebirth, dryness symbolizes false rebirth. And just as death causes false rebirth, spiritual death causes a false spiritual rebirth.

Verse 2 reads, “He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun was darkened, and the air too, because of the smoke from the pit” (cf. Joel 2:2, 10).

The words, “burning furnace,” symbolizes hatred and rage (Dan. 3). Thus, the prophecy, “He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace,” symbolizes Satan becoming full of hatred and rage.

The rebirth of the first trumpet plague is symbolized by the “sun becoming black,” which corresponds to an earlier fulfillment in the first trumpet plague, which is symbolized by “fire,” which, in turn, corresponds to an even earlier fulfillment in the first seal, which is symbolized by the “white horse.” Finally, the white horse” is the equivalent of the “false messiahs,” in Matthew 24. Thus, the rebirth of the first trumpet plague, which is symbolized by the “sun becoming black,” is caused by a rebirth of the false messiahs who teach the false social gospel.

The false messiahs of the first trumpet plague who teach the false social gospel include Jeremiah A. Wright, and many others.

The rebirth of the second trumpet plague is symbolized by “smoke pollution,” which corresponds to an earlier fulfillment in the second trumpet plague, which is symbolized by “smoke,” which, in turn, corresponds to an even earlier fulfillment in the second seal, which is symbolized by the “red horse.” Finally, “red horse” is the equivalent of the “wars and rumors of war,” in Matthew 24. Thus, the rebirth of the second trumpet plague, which is symbolized by “smoke pollution,” is caused by a rebirth of the “wars and rumors of war” as a result of social gospel.

The social gospel wars were waged by false messiahs who supported: abortion; same sex marriage; reverse racism, identity politics; the war on men; the war on women; and the attack on freedom of speech, etc.

On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, was fatally shot by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch coordinator, in Sanford, Florida. He was charged with second degree murder and manslaughter. On July 9, 2013, four days before the verdict was handed down, President Barack Obama stoked the embers of racism in a White House speech. He said, “You know, when Trayvon Martin was first shot I said that this could have been my son. Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.” Nevertheless, on July 13, Zimmerman was acquitted of both charges. The verdict wasn’t received well in the black community.

As a result of the Zimmerman acquittal, three women: Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi, founded Black Lives Matter as a hashtag: #Black Lives Matter. Patrisse Cullors had proudly admitted, “We’re trained Marxists.” Opal Tometi considers the brutal and corrupt Maduro regime in socialist Venezuela a “participatory democracy” with a “fair, transparent election system.” And Alicia Garza wrote, “I use Assata’s powerful demand in my organizing work.” She was referring to Assata Shakur, a violent murderer on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list.

Black Lives Matter has an informal alliance with Antifa, which ironically is short for “antifascist.” Like BLM, they are a Marxist/socialist movement. They have no recognized leader. Rather, they are a group of violent anarchists, typically outfitted in masks and black combat gear. Many believe that they receive significant funding from an outside source.

Not only are the cofounders of Black Lives Matter “trained Marxists, but their tactics suggest that they were also been trained by Islamists. Both Islamists and BLM are anti-Semitic. They also both ban books, rename institutions, desecrate graveyards and tear down statues, the most notable being the destruction of Palmyra and other ancient sites by ISIS. The director of Jihad Watch, Robert Spencer, said, “A few years back during the Obama administration, Black Lives Matter operatives went to Gaza and got training from Palestinian terrorists as to how to carry out the kind of violence we have been seeing in America the last few months.”[14] The most significant tactic that Islamists have taught to those in the BLM movement, is the one that was originally encouraged by Osama bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks. As mentioned earlier, he declared, “…Terrorism against America deserves to be praised because it was a response to injustice….” Sadly, not only have BLM adopted terrorism to achieve their goals, but they have also convinced those who support them to do the same by unwittingly promoting the Islamist belief that unprovoked violence against innocent people is necessary in order to fight injustice. Of course, this reference to violence should not be a confused with self defense, it is a reference to unprovoked violence against innocent people. The Black Lives Matter hashtag spread throughout the U.S. in 2014, when the movement gained more traction after two high-profile deaths of unarmed black men: Eric Garner in Staten Island, New York and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Since then, there have been a series of high-profile deaths, including the death of George Floyd, which was the catalyst to an unprecedented level of civil unrest.

Notice that the rebirth of the first trumpet plague, the sun becoming dark, and the rebirth of the second trumpet plague, the air becoming polluted with smoke, are fulfilled simultaneously. This is because the prophecies are ramping up as we get closer and closer to Yeshua’s return.

Verses 3 and 4 read, “Then out of the smoke locusts came forth on the earth, and authority was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have authority. They were told that they should not harm the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, except only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.”

The Israelites who were in Goshen escaped the plagues that were brought to bear on Egypt.

The rebirth of the third trumpet plague is symbolized by “locusts,” which corresponds to an earlier fulfillment in the third trumpet plague, which is symbolized by “poisoned freshwater,” which, in turn, corresponds to an even earlier fulfillment in the third seal, which is symbolized by the “black horse” of Revelation 6. The black horse is the equivalent of the “famines,” of Matthew 24. Thus, the rebirth of the second trumpet plague, which is symbolized by “locusts,” is caused by famines of the word of God as a result of the social gospel.

The rebirth of the fourth trumpet plague is symbolized by “scorpions,” which corresponds to an earlier fulfillment in the fourth trumpet plague, which is symbolized by one-third of the sun, moon and stars being “struck,” which, in turn, corresponds to an even earlier fulfillment in the third seal, which is symbolized by the “pale horse” of Revelation 6. The “pale horse” is the equivalent of the “pestilences,” of Matthew 24. Thus, the rebirth of the fourth trumpet plague, which is symbolized by “scorpions” is caused by the poisoning of the social gospel.

In verse 4, two groups of people are contrasted, but only one of them receives the plagues. The identity of the first group is hidden in symbolic terms of nature, specifically green, healthy, living things. They symbolize the chaste congregation, people who are not “harmed” by the plagues. The identity of the second group is described as, “…people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads,” which means that they do not have the holy spirit (Ezek. 9:4; Eph. 4:30; 2 Cor. 1:22). They are not the children (Rom. 8:9), nor the “servants of God” (Rev. 7:2-3). Thus, they symbolize the harlot-daughter congregations, the group of unfaithful Believers who receive the plagues (Rev. 18:4).

The part locust, part scorpion, hybrid creature symbolizes two groups of people who are working together to “kill” their common enemy, the “people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads,” the harlot-daughter congregations. Locusts live in agricultural areas; yet, these locusts were commanded not to, “harm the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree,” which symbolizes the chaste congregation. However, they were only allowed to kill, “people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads,” which, by implication, refers to the unhealthy things of nature, things that symbolize the harlot-daughter congregations.

Notice that the rebirth of the third trumpet plague, locusts (vs. 4), and the rebirth of the fourth trumpet plague, scorpions, are fulfilled simultaneously. The fact that the locusts and the scorpions are symbolized by a hybrid creature proves this point. Again, this is because the prophecies are ramping up as we get closer and closer to Yeshua’s return.

Verse 5 reads, “They were not given power to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person.”

This prophecy tells us that the hybrid creature was “not given power to kill” the harlot-daughter congregations, but only to “strike” or “sting” (vs. 10) them. The key to understanding this prophecy is that the Scriptures tell us that there are two types of death, the first death, which is physical (Heb. 9:27-28), and the second death, which is spiritual (Rev. 2:10-11; 20:6, 14; 21:8). Thus, the reason why the hybrid creature was “not given power to kill” the harlot-daughter congregations, but was given power to “sting” them, is because the prophecy is speaking in spiritual terms. Paul wrote about this subject. He states, “But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written shall be brought to pass, “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “Death, where is your sting? the grave, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Torah. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Master, Yeshua Messiah” (1 Cor. 15:54-57). Finally, Yeshua declared, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the being. Rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both being and body in Gehenna” (Matt. 10:28).

The words, “five months,” correspond to the normal lifetime of a natural locust, which may symbolize that the fifth trumpet plagues will run their natural courses without being shortened through divine intervention.

Verse 6 reads, “In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.”

The prophecy, “In those days people will seek death…,” refers to a number of people in the harlot-daughter congregations seeking to leave the faith, which is, in effect, a death sentence (Rom. 6:23). And the prophecy, “…and will in no way find it,” refers to the fact that if they do turn back they will lose their salvation. Luke 9:62 states, “But Yeshua said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.”

Verse 7 reads, “The likenesses of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like gold crowns, and their faces were like the faces of people.”

The word, “horses” symbolize power (Job 30:19-25; Rev 6:3-8, 9:16; 19:11). However, these horses are described as being, “like horses prepared for war,” which means that they are not genuine. Thus, the prophecy, “The likenesses of the locusts were like horses prepared for war,” symbolizes that the Antifa-BLM Alliance’s attack on the harlot-daughter congregations is not well-organized and also not very powerful.

The word, “gold,” symbolizes character, which is built through trials (Rev. 3:15-19). In addition, the word, “crowns,” was translated from the Greek word, “stephanos,” which means, “crowns of victory.” This type of crown is used in the Scriptures exclusively for Yeshua and the saints, who achieve victory over sin, with the one exception here. But unlike the victory crowns that are won by Yeshua and the saints, these victory crowns are described as, “something like gold crowns,” which means that they are not genuine. Thus, the prophecy, “On their heads were something like gold crowns,” symbolizes that the Antifa-BLM Alliance has no genuine, righteous character and also no genuine victory in Messiah Yeshua (John 8:44).

The prophecy, “…and their faces were like the faces of people,” means that their faces are not genuine faces of people. Thus, the prophecy symbolizes the face masks, face coverings, goggles and gas masks worn by the members of the Antifa-BLM Alliance to hide their identity.

Verse 8 reads, “They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like those of lions.”

The prophecy, they had, “hair like the hair of women,” means that their hair is not the genuine hair of women. Thus, the prophecy symbolizes the helmets, head coverings, and hoodies worn by the members of the Antifa-BLM Alliance to hide their identity and to protect.

The word, “teeth” symbolizes anger (Acts 7:54; Job 16:9; Ps. 35:16; 37:12). However, these teeth are described as being, “teeth [that] were like those of lions,” which means that the teeth are not genuine. Thus, the prophecy, “…and their teeth were like those of lions,” symbolizes the manufactured rage of the members of the Antifa-BLM Alliance. Joel 1:6 states, “For a nation has invaded My land, powerful and without number; its teeth are those of a lion, and its fangs are those of a lioness.

Verse 9 reads, “They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war.”

The word “breastplate” symbolizes God’s commandments (Ps. 111:10) and righteousness (Isa. 59:17; Eph, 6:14). However, these breastplates are described as being, “like breastplates of iron,” which means that they are not genuine. Thus, the prophecy, “They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron,” symbolize the riot shields used by the members of the Antifa-BLM Alliance.

The prophecy, “The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots,” means that the thunderous sound they make is not genuine. Thus, the prophecy symbolizes the loud, but juvenile cries the members of the Antifa-BLM Alliance make when they are losing a physical battle or being arrested.

The prophecy, “…or of many horses rushing to war,” is another symbolic way of saying the same exact thing in the prophecy directly above.

Verse 10 reads, “They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings in their tails. They have authority to harm men for five months.

This prophecy is very similar to the prophecy in verse 4, except for one difference. The reference to a time period of five months in this verse is most likely not the same time period of five months referenced in verse 4. It is most likely a subsequent time period of five months, separated by either a span of time or an identifiable event.

Verse 11 reads, “They have over them as king of the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is “Abaddon,” but in Greek, he has the name “Apollyon.”

The Hebrew name, “Abaddon,” means Destruction, and the Greek name, “Apollyon,” means “Destroyer.” Both refer to Satan. Yeshua said, “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly” (John 10:10).

Verse 12 reads, “The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.”

The fact that the fifth trumpet plagues are collectively referred to as a “woe” seems to suggest that they are not going to be fulfilled and go unnoticed.

Conclusion

The title of this document asks the question, “Woe, is the Fifth Trumpet Sounding?” I strongly believe that the answer to this question is “Yes!” Let’s review.

During the creation week, God worked for six days, and He rested on the seventh day, the Sabbath. Based on this pattern, New Testament writers taught that the first six days of creation represent six millennial work days, and that the seventh day represents the millennial Sabbath. Thus, God allocated the age of man to last for 6000 years.

Archbishop Ussher assigns the creation of Adam to the year 4004 BC and the birth of Yeshua to the year 4 BC., 4000 years later. When this timeline is projected forward, the 6,000-year age of man culminates in the year 1996 AD.

The seven trumpet plagues target one-third of mankind, and according to David Barrett’s World Christian Encyclopedia, Christianity, as a whole, didn’t come to number one-third of mankind until sometime just before the year 1900 AD., and it has remained one-third ever since. Of course, this means that it was one-third in the year 1996 AD., which corresponds to both the end of the 6,000-year age of man and Archbishop Ussher’s chronology of the Bible.

The seven trumpet plagues target “one-third” of mankind and “Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots.” This suggests that the two descriptions identify the same group, the Catholic Church and her Protestant, daughter churches.

The seven trumpet plagues culminate in Yeshua’s return which should occur on the Day of Trumpets in the year of God’s choosing.

Yeshua’s return is imminent, but before this occurs, God is attempting to bring the harlot-daughter congregations to repentance through the seven trumpet plagues. The Apostle John states, “I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, My people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you do not receive of her plagues.” The prophecy, “Come out of her, My people,” is an illusion to the Exodus, an event in which God, through Moses, delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt (Rev. 18:4).

The connection between the children of Israel coming out of Egypt with God’s people coming out of “Mystery, Babylon the Great,” and her daughter congregations, suggests that there is much more to be learned on this topic through typology.

First, the means by which God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt was through the ten plagues.[15] Likewise, the means by which He delivers His people out of the harlot-daughter congregations is through the seven trumpet plagues. However, there is one important distinction between the two events. The ten plagues were brought to bear on the Egyptians, who were Gentiles; whereas the seven trumpet plagues are brought to bear on the harlot-daughter congregations, who are Believers.

Also, the ten plagues were designed by God to target ten of Egypt’s most prominent gods, and expose them as false gods, one by one. After the Israelites were delivered, Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, exclaimed, “Now I know that יהוה is greater than all the gods…” (Ex. 18:11). Likewise, the seven trumpet plagues are designed by God to target seven of the harlot-daughter congregations’ most prominent gods, and to expose them as false gods, one by one.

Egypt’s mightiest God was Pharaoh himself, whose immortality was realized through his firstborn son. And when the tenth plague struck, all the firstborn sons of Egypt were killed, including Pharaoh’s. Likewise, the harlot’s immortality is realized through her firstborn son, Martin Luther. When the seventh trumpet plague strikes, all the firstborn sons of the Catholic Church will be killed spiritually, including Martin Luther.

Martin Luther was a heretic and a rabid anti-Semite who taught that salvation is achieved through justification alone, insisting that Christians are not required to keep the “Jewish” Torah in order to receive salvation. In order to support this doctrine of Torahlessness, Luther went so far as to deliberately add the word “alone” to Romans 3:28 in his German translation of the New Testament. Correctly translated, Romans 3:28 reads, “We maintain; therefore, that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the Torah.” Yet, Luther’s translation reads, “We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith alone apart from the works of the Torah.” While Luther should not have added to the word of God, which is prohibited (Deut. 4:2; 12:32; Prov. 30:6), his insertion of the word alone as it applies to justification is technically accurate. Man is indeed justified by faith alone. However, where Luther failed is that he was unable to harmonize Romans 3:28, which states, “…a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the Torah” with James 2:24, which states, “…by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.” As a result, he falsely concluded, “Therefore St. James' Epistle is really an epistle of straw, compared to them; for it has nothing of the nature of the Gospel about it.”[16]

While it is true that Romans 3:28 and James 2:24 seem to contradict one another, properly understood, they are in complete harmony with one another. The key to understanding them is to understand that the Bible teaches that salvation is achieved in two separate steps, “justification” and “sanctification.” Justification is a one-time act of accepting Messiah Yeshua as Savior and having our past sins forgiven (Rom. 5:1; 3:24; 4:24-25; Titus 3:7; etc.). Sanctification is a lifelong process of keeping Torah and overcoming sin to the end (Matt.10:22; Matt. 24:13; Mark 13:13; Rev. 2:26), when we receive salvation (Rom. 6:22; 1 Thess. 4:1-10; 1 Cor. 1:2; etc.).

In Paul’s letter to the Romans he addresses the difference between justification and sanctification. In Romans 5:1, He states, “Having been therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Master Yeshua Messiah.” Then, in Romans 6:22 he adds, “But now, having been set free from sin, and having become servants of God, have your fruit unto sanctification, and its end, eternal life.” Notice that Paul is saying here that sanctification is commanded after justification is achieved.

Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles (Rom. 11:13; Gal. 2:1-10) and it was in this capacity that he was addressing the new Ephesian converts to the faith. James was the leader of the Jewish congregation in Jerusalem and it was in this capacity that he was addressing “the twelve tribes which are in the Dispersion” (James 1:1), who were established Believers in the faith. The reason why Paul tells the newly converted Ephesians that they are, “justified by faith apart from the works of the Torah” and James tells the Israelites that, “by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith,” is because they are speaking to their respective groups, groups who were at different stages of their spiritual walk. Since the Ephesians were new converts to the faith, Paul tells them that they are “justified by faith apart from the works of the Torah,” focusing on the first step of salvation, justification. In contrast, since the Israelites were established Believers in the faith, James tells them that, “by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith,” focusing on the second step of salvation, sanctification. Thus, understanding Paul’s and James’ statements in context enables us to draw the proper conclusion that ultimately, salvation is achieved through a combination of faith and works.

In the Exodus account, the sacrifice of the Passover lamb, which was a type of Yeshua (John 1:29), and the application of its blood on the two door posts and the lintels of the houses of the Israelites delivered them from the death angel. After that, God worked great miracles on Israel’s behalf, including sending 10 plagues on Egypt, parting the Red Sea to provide Israel with a means of escape, and killing Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea. God fought Israel’s enemies and delivered them from bondage, without any participation from the Israelites who did nothing on their own behalf, except to rise up and leave the bondage of Egypt in faith. Likewise, when we accept the sacrifice of Yeshua, He saves us from our sins without any participation from us. We too do nothing on our own behalf, except to rise up and leave the bondage of sin in faith. This is why Paul states, “…a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the Torah” (Rom. 3:28). This part of the account describes the first step of salvation, justification.

The Exodus account didn’t end once justification was achieved. After being delivered from Egypt, the Israelites didn’t immediately cross over into the Promised Land. In fact, they spent 40 long years in the desert. Likewise, after Yeshua saves us from our sins, we don’t immediately cross over into the Kingdom of God. Having been delivered from Egypt, the Israelites were then required to participate in the “fight” against their enemies, which was a type of Torah observance. Their Torah observance coupled with their faith in God and His power enabled them to cross over into the Promised Land. Likewise, once we are saved from our past sins, we are then required to participate in the “works of the Torah.” The “works of the Torah” coupled with our faith in God and His power will enable us to cross over into the Kingdom of God.

When the Israelites worshipped the gods of Egypt, including the golden calf, they broke Torah. All those who didn’t repent, who were twenty years and older, died in the wilderness, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb. As a result they failed to cross over into the Promised Land. Likewise, all those who sin without repenting will not cross over into the Kingdom of God. They will die in a spiritual wilderness. This is why James states, “…faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead” (James 2:17). This part of the account describes the second step of salvation, sanctification.

This typology proves that salvation is not achieved through justification alone. Again, it is achieved through the process of both justification and sanctification. It also proves that the process of sanctification, which includes Torah observance, is a requirement. If it weren’t a requirement, the Israelites who were twenty years old and older would not have died in the wilderness. Matthew 10:22 states, “…he who endures to the end will be saved.” (cf. Matt. 24:13; Mark 13:13; Rev. 2:26). We are saved from our past sins through justification, and we receive salvation through sanctification.

Martin Luther’s doctrine of Torahlessness is, in effect, a license to sin. Yet, Luther wasn’t the first person to promote this heresy; it actually goes back to the time of the apostles. Jude 1:4 states, “For there are certain men who crept in secretly, who were long ago written about for this judgment, irreverent men, transferring the grace of our God to licentiousness, and denying our only Master, God, and our Lord, Yeshua Messiah.”

Isaiah wrote, “To the Torah and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, surely there is no light in them” (Isa. 8:20). Yet, mainstream Christianity has rejected the word of God, and has embraced Luther’s doctrine of Torahlessness. Since then, Western Civilization has strayed down a progressive path of hatred. This hatred was prophesied by Yeshua who states, “Because Torahlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matt. 24:12). This hatred has led to incredible misery and self-destruction, a path that will soon culminate in the outright rejection of God and His Two Witnesses, the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The book of Revelation is comprised of a 2000-year, 7-era timeline that contains a series of prophecies that are designed to bring the harlot-daughter congregations to repentance. Yet, after a number of them were fulfilled, God lamented, “And they didn’t repent” (Rev. 9:20-21). Of course, the reason why they didn’t repent is because they don’t believe that they are required to keep the Torah; therefore, to them, repentance in order to receive salvation is not required. This heretical belief makes it almost impossible to bring them to repentance.

When Moses ascended Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments (Ex. 24:12–18) he remained there for forty days and forty nights. “When the people saw that Moses delayed from coming down the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make gods for us, who shall go before us, for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him Aaron said to them, “Take off the gold rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me.” All the people took off the gold rings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron. He received what they handed him, and fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molten calf. They said, “These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt” (Ex. 32:1-4). Thus, when Moses was delayed on Mt. Sinai, the people grew tired of waiting him to return, so he could raise them up and deliver them into the Promised Land. So they rebelled against God and returned back to Egypt through their false gods. Likewise, Yeshua is being delayed in heaven and the harlot-daughter congregations have grown tired of waiting for Him to return so He could raise them up and deliver them into the Kingdom of God. So they are rebelling against God and returning back to the beast (Rev. 13) through their false gods, the ministers of the social gospel.

Joshua and Caleb were the only adults from the first generation of Israelites to cross over into the Promise Land. Everyone who was under the age of twenty entered in as well because they were under the age of accountability (Ex. 30:12-16, 38:26; Num. 1:2-3; 14:26-30; Ezra 3:8). In contrast, everyone who was twenty years old and over died in the wilderness, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb. Likewise, one-third of mankind, all those who are accountable in the harlot-daughter congregations, are prophesied to be killed spiritually, and cut off from God, with the exception of those who are spiritual babies and children (Luke 18:15-17; 1 Pet. 2:1-2; 1 Cor. 3:1-9). The implication that the majority of people from the first generation harlot-daughter congregations will not cross over into the Kingdom of God is quite sobering. Yeshua declared, “Enter in by the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate, and hard pressed is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it” (Matt. 7:13-14). He also said, “For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matt. 20:16).

Rather than repent, an ever-increasing number of the members of the harlot-daughter congregations have grown tired of waiting for Yeshua to return. So they are now attempting to self-fulfill the true gospel of the Kingdom of God through a counterfeit, social gospel disseminated by their false gods of the beast, rather than through Messiah Yeshua, the prince of peace (Isa. 9:6).

This false gospel includes the belief that violence, meaning unprovoked violence against innocent people, is necessary in order to fight injustice.[17] In contrast, though, Yeshua said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who falsely accuse you, and persecute you….” (Matt. 5:43-44). Yeshua also declared, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will tell Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, did we not prophesy in Your name, cast out demons, and in Your name do many miracles?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice Torahlessness!’” This applies to one-third of mankind, the harlot-daughter congregations who are killed spiritually, and cut off from God.”

The Scriptures speaks of only one body of Believers (Rom. 12:4-8; 12:12-27; Eph. 4:1-16; Col. 3:15); who are divided into two congregations, the chaste congregation and the harlot congregation (1 Cor. 6:16-17; Rev. 17:1-5). The labels, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist and Pentecostal, etc., are all the inventions of man. God does not recognize them.

To those who attend one of the harlot-daughter congregations, God is calling out to you, “Come out of her, My people!” Will you answer the call? God is also calling out, “if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Will you “humble” yourself by submitting to God as your source of truth? (Isa. 66:2). Will you “pray” to Him in faith? (James 5:13-15). Will you “seek His face” through Bible study? (2 Tim. 2:15). Will you turn from your “wicked ways” by repenting and keeping His Torah? (2 Chron. 7:14). If you are willing to do these things, God will hear from heaven, and forgive you of your sins. 2 Peter 1:10-11 states, “Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure….” Are you basing your “calling and election” on justification alone, or on the process of both justification and sanctification?

To those who attend the chaste congregation, God is calling out to us to separate ourselves from the harlot-daughter congregations. Yeshua states, “…I know your works, your love, faith, service, patience, and that your last works are more than the first. But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces My servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent of her fornication, but she refuses to repent. Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works. I will kill her children with Death, and all the congregations will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds” (Rev. 2:19-23). Jezebel was a harlot who lived during Old Testament times. She symbolizes the Catholic Church, “the mother of harlots,” and by extension, her harlot daughters (Rev. 17:5). Are we committing “adultery with her?” (Rev. 2:22). Are we basing our “calling and election” on justification alone, like the harlot-daughter congregations, or on the process of both justification and sanctification? Are we praying for the salvation of our brothers and sisters in the harlot-daughter congregations? James 5:19-20 states, “Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a life from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.” Leviticus 19:17 states, “You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.” Isaiah 58:1 states, “Cry aloud, do not spare, lift up your voice like a shofar, and declare to My people their transgressions, and to the house of Jacob their sins.” Remember, God holds the chaste congregation to a higher degree of accountability, so we must be careful not to take our salvation for granted. Yeshua declared, “…To whomever much is given, of him will much be required, and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked” (Matt. 11:20-24; cf. 13:10-17).

Finally, God declares to all His people, “I call the heavens and the earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your seed” (Deut. 30:19).

[1] The English name “Jesus” is the result of three phases of transliteration. First, His original Hebrew name, ישוע, was transliterated into Greek as “Iēsous.” Second, the Greek name Iēsous was transliterated into Latin as “Iesus.” And third, the Latin name Iesus was transliterated into English as “Jesus.” The name is so far removed from the original Hebrew name that it sounds nothing like it and means nothing etymologically. In contrast, the name “Yeshua” is the result of only one phase of transliteration, directly from Hebrew to English. It is the shortened form of the transliterated name “Yehoshua” (Deut. 3:21). Also, the name “Yeshua,” sounds exactly like the original Hebrew name when spoken,” which etymologically means, “יהוה saves.” This is consistent with Matthew 1:21 which prophesies, “You shall call His name ישוע [יהוה saves] for it is He who shall save His people from their sins.”

It appears that originally there were only seven (which included the tenth), to which were added the third, sixth, and ninth, bringing the count to ten.” If the Genesis applies to these plagues, than there were actually seven plagues, as the fifth plague would be comprised of four events.
